Certificate in Supervision

With the increasing number of therapists in the UK and the shortage of supervisors, we invite experienced therapists to develop new skills and advance their careers by training to be clinical supervisors.

We offer a flexible and accessible course that teaches the theory and practice of clinical supervision, leading to a qualification that enables students to provide supervision to UKCP trainees, accredited therapists, and those with PSA-equivalent registration.

The six-month course is designed for practising psychotherapists, psychotherapeutic counsellors and counsellors who wish to advance in their career and provide supervision as part of their practice.

The training includes several theoretical models of supervision, enabling graduates to work with a wide range of therapeutic orientations.

Entry Requirements

This course meets the requirements for an academic level 7 training course; therefore, applicants must have a post-graduate level of competence at the outset.

Applicants must also have five years of practice experience, with at least three years post-registration as a UKCP or BACP-accredited/registered therapist (depending on experience), and have completed at least 1,600 clinical hours.

Students are required to provide supervised supervision to a minimum of two case study subjects throughout the six-month course. It is advised that students source case study subjects before commencing the course.

Our course is approved by the College of Outcome-Oriented and Hypno-Psychotherapists (COOHP) for entry onto the UKCP supervisor directory for members of COOHP and meets all requirements for UKCP supervision and PSA-equivalent courses.
