A Relational, Outcome-Oriented and Pluralistic Approach to Psychotherapy.

The NCHP Approach to Psychotherapy

At NCHP, we see every client as unique, shaped by their own life experiences, values, and strengths.

We believe therapy works best when it’s collaborative, creative, and tailored to the person in front of us, rather than forcing clients into a single theoretical framework.

Our approach is relational, outcome-oriented and pluralistic, drawing on a wide range of psychotherapeutic traditions, both foundational and contemporary approaches. We work holistically with mind, body, subjective experience and personal context.  We utilise hypnosis as another dimension of the therapeutic relationship and a meaningful way to deepen and enrich our work and our clients’ self-awareness.

This route is for those who want to:

  • Work relationally and in-depth with clients
  • Train within a flexible and pluralistic model
  • Gain UKCP Accrediation as a Hypno-Psychotherapist or Integrative Psychotherapist
  • Integrate hypnosis into your practice
  • Value inclusivity, diversity, and respect for difference
  • Believe in their clients’ potential for growth
  • Enjoy creative, experiential learning

How We Use Hypnosis

Hypno-psychotherapy is the clinical use of hypnosis to enhance psychotherapy. It’s not just about techniques; it’s about deepening the therapeutic process, engaging both conscious and unconscious resources, and helping clients create sustainable change.

We train at the highest UKCP-accredited level, equipping therapists to work with complex psychological issues while integrating approaches from multiple traditions.

Whilst you can choose the title of hypno-psychotherapist or integrative psychotherapist on completion, we might use hypnosis as a relational tool for:

  • Deepening self-awareness;

  • Unlocking creativity;

  • Resolving inner conflicts;

  • Working with both mind and body to promote healing.

Core Beliefs of Our Approach

  • The therapeutic relationship is key: trust, respect, and collaboration drive meaningful change

  • Clients already hold valuable resources: therapy can help them access and develop these, even if they were previously unrecognised

  • Symptoms have meaning: they may be symbolic, from unconscious process and point to opportunities for growth and healing

  • Clients are the experts in their own lives: our role is to support them in creating change that aligns with their values

Can't Decide Between Hypnotherapy, Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy?

You Don’t Need to Choose Right Now…

  • Our UKCP pathways are designed with maximum flexibility in mind and feature multiple points at which you can choose to exit or pause.
  • All our UKCP pathways begin at the same point.
  • If you decide to conclude your studies or take a break after Stage 2, you can do so with a recognised hypnotherapy qualification.
  • You can pivot at any point before the beginning of Stage 4 from one pathway to the other, depending on your circumstances and desired outcomes, should they change.
  • Both our Psychotherapeutic Counselling Pathway and our Psychotherapy Pathway are accredited with the UKCP
