The NCHP Approach to Hypnotherapy
We see hypnosis as a natural human capacity, an imaginative and emotional gateway to growth and transformation. It’s a collaborative, focused state that opens the mind to new perspectives and possibilities.
Rooted in deep psychotherapeutic understanding, our approach goes far beyond traditional hypnotherapy.
We integrate hypnosis within a genuine, person-centred relationship, where empathy, curiosity, and connection guide the process.
Here, hypnosis becomes more than a technique. It’s a powerful way of communicating and creating change from within.
Through this integration, you’ll learn to work with depth, presence, and authenticity, helping clients discover their own capacity for lasting growth and change.
Our approach enables you to…
-
Support clients with emotional, behavioural, or thought-based challenges
-
Help individuals develop their strengths, resilience, and potential
-
Work within a creative, structured and flexible frame
-
Work holistically with the person in all their complexity
-
Integrate hypnotic work into an existing therapeutic practice.
Our courses take you beyond therapy as something you ‘do’,
and help you embody your potential to ‘be’ a therapist
How We Teach Hypnotherapy
We understand and recognise hypnotherapy as a dynamic, co-creative process, rather than the traditional model of imposing change.
We support you in working alongside your client to discover what they need from therapy and how hypnosis can be created as part of the therapeutic relationship to help them best.
Four key principles underpin our training:
Person-Centred
Your client’s needs, values, and context shape the work you do together. Your skills and creativity bring therapy to life.
Collaborative
Hypnosis is a co-creative process that occurs within a safe and trusting relationship between the client and the practitioner.
Flexible
Our model seamlessly integrates into a range of therapeutic approaches, grounded in the relationship.
Ethical
Our training is based upon respect, transparency and the highest professional standards.
We Have Two Hypnotherapy Training Routes
The Hypnotherapy Diploma
- This is the pathway for you to become a Person-Centred Hypnotherapist, working with people as whole individuals rather than just focusing on specific issues.
- This is the ideal pathway if you don’t have a first degree or postgraduate-level professional qualifications but are eager to embark upon a career in therapy.
- This is also the ideal pathway for those who already hold professional accreditation as a therapist and want to build psychotherapy-grounded hypnotherapy skills into their existing practice in a relational way.
The Integrative Hypno-Psychotherapy Certificate
- This is the pathway for you if you hold a degree (or equivalent) or relevant professional qualifications, want to train as a Psychotherapist or Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, or keep this option open.
- This certification qualifies you for private practice as a Hypnotherapist whilst continuing toward UKCP accreditation as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor or Psychotherapist.
- You can choose to exit the pathway at this point and apply to return to training in the future, making it a flexible and structured path that fits your lifestyle.
Professional Recognition
Both of our hypnotherapy pathways meet the standards for voluntary self-regulation through the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), a Professional Standards Authority mark of trust.
Graduates may also apply for membership with the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).
