This policy comes into effect from May 2026 intakes.
Introduction
This policy outlines the fees and procedures for remarking and resubmitting assessed work at the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (NCHP), ensuring transparency and consistency in applying academic standards and reassessing student work.
Scope
This policy applies to all students enrolled in NCHP Stage 1 to Stage 4 inclusive who are required to resubmit assignments or request a formal remark.
When Fees Apply
Fees will be charged in the following situations:
- When a student resubmits work due to a defer.
- When a formal remark is requested by the student or required by the Board.
- When additional input (e.g. supervision or triage) is deemed necessary to support a second submission.
Note: Resubmissions are capped at the minimum pass mark unless mitigating circumstances have been formally approved.
Fees by Stage:
Stage 1 resubmission/remark fees:
- Essays and case studies = £45 per item
- Practical assessment = £75 per item
Stage 2 resubmission/remark fees:
- Additional triad review = £60
- Ethics tutorial = £60
- Essays/transcripts = £55
- Additional case study supervision for the whole case study = £120
- Full case study remark = £150
Stage 3 resubmission/remark fees:
- Additional triad review = £60
- Group presentation: £70 (per group)
- Reflexive project: £100
Stage 4 resubmission/remark fees:
- Literature review = £55
- Dissertation = £150
- BIIDE reflexive project = £60
- HDS, PP assessments = £60
- Dissertation remark = £150
- Second of subsequent viva assessment = £250
Payment Procedure
- All fees must be paid in full before any remarking or resubmission review.
- Students will receive payment instructions upon approval of the resubmission or remark request.
- All fees are non-refundable (other than when a marking appeal which has gone through the appeals process is upheld).

Students and trainees are encouraged to:
Review feedback carefully before making a resubmission.
Ensure that communication with the NCHP remains open throughout the process.
This policy is subject to review annually or in line with changes to the programme structure or assessment regulations.
